1870s Collins

This is a reproduction of a saddle by J.S & G.H. Collins of Cheyenne, Wyoming and dates from the mid-1870s.

Built on a Cheyenne-style tree, it has Texas square skirts, Sam Stagg rigging, Cheyenne and the classic half-seat, no seat jockeys.� It weighs approximately 30 pounds fully rigged.

The Collins saddles were very popular plains saddles and were ridden by such notables as Buffalo Bill Cody and Theodore Roosevelt.
